Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Johnny Drinks Inc. (“we”, “us”) collects when you use Ladle at ladlerecipe.com (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

Account information. Your email address and password when you sign up. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we never see or store them.
Payment information. When you buy a membership, Stripe collects your card details. We do not receive or store your card number. We keep a Stripe customer reference, what you bought, and the status and dates of your membership.
What you do on the Service. Recipes you save and items on your shopping list.
Creator information. If you publish as a creator: your name, handle, bio, logo and banner images; details of social accounts you connect, including account identifiers and access tokens; and the posts, captions, videos and images you import or upload.
Device and technical information. IP address, browser and device type, and similar details our providers record to keep accounts secure, recognize trusted devices, and block automated sign-ups.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure your account. Your browser’s local storage keeps a few preferences on your own device, such as ingredients you have ticked off, serving sizes, and recently viewed recipes. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party ads or ad tracking.

How we use information

To create and secure your account and provide the Service.
To process payments and manage your membership.
To send service emails, such as account verification, password reset codes, receipts, payment problems and renewal reminders.
For creators, to turn imported videos and captions into written recipes, including by processing them with AI tools.
To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with the law.

If we ever send marketing email, we will do so only as the law allows and every message will let you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:

Clerk, for sign-in and account security.
Stripe, for payments.
Amazon Web Services, for hosting, databases and file storage.
Resend, for sending email.
OpenAI, to transcribe and analyze creator videos and captions. Members’ information is not sent to it.
Instagram (Meta) and a third-party data retrieval service, to fetch the posts of creators who connect their accounts.

A creator’s public profile and published recipes are, by design, visible to everyone. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or anyone’s safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When an account is deleted we delete its data from our systems, except where we must keep records for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its privacy policy.

Your choices and rights

You can update your password and cancel a membership from your account. To access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to ask any question about it, email hello@ladlerecipe.com. Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, you may have additional rights over your information; we will honor them as the law requires and will not treat you differently for using them.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and trusted providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where information is processed

We are based in the United States and store and process information there. By using the Service from elsewhere, you understand your information will be transferred to the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If a change is material we will let you know before it takes effect, for example by email or on the Service.
